Postdoc in Technology-Supported Home-Based Treatment - DTU Health Tech
Danmarks Tekniske Universitet
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Technical University Hospital (TUH) Signature Program on Technology-Supported Home-Based Treatment.
The program brings together DTU and hospitals across Eastern Denmark to develop, evaluate, and implement technologies that support safe and effective treatment outside hospitals.
You will work at the intersection of engineering, digital health, and clinical research, collaborating with researchers and clinicians across ten clinical projects. Your work will focus on the development, integration, and evaluation of digital health technologies, with particular emphasis on their clinical application, technological maturity, and scalability.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be to provide technological expertise and support to researchers and clinicians involved in the TUH Signature Program, helping develop, integrate, and evaluate digital health technologies for home-based treatment. You will work across multiple clinical research projects, translating clinical needs into practical technological solutions and ensuring that technologies can be deployed, evaluated, and scaled in real-world healthcare settings. This includes advising on technology selection, system integration, data collection, and technical implementation in close collaboration with clinical and technical research teams.
As a postdoc, you will also be involved in teaching and supervision of BSc and MSc student projects at DTU.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with experience and competencies in several of the following areas:
- Software development, system architecture, and integration of digital health platforms and technologies.
- Digital health technologies, including mobile health (mHealth), telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and home-based treatment.
- Sensor technologies, wearable devices, and mobile sensing for collecting physiological, behavioral, and patient-reported health data.
- Health data science, including data processing, analysis, and digital phenotyping.
- User-centered design, usability evaluation, and development of digital health solutions in collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Health data standards and interoperability, including HL7, FHIR, and integration with electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of the Danish healthcare system and national eHealth infrastructure, including health data exchange and cross-sector collaboration.
- Experience with clinical research, including the deployment and evaluation of technologies in clinical studies and real-world healthcare settings.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with engineers, researchers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders.
We do not expect candidates to have expertise in all these areas, but we value a strong technical background, practical experience with digital health technologies, and an interest in applying research and technology to clinical practice.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
