Internship in Oxfam Denmark on Climate Justice – Spring 2027

Oxfam IBIS

Do you want to contribute to fighting poverty and inequality in the world? Are you interested in climate justice, human rights, and international development? And do you see climate adaptation, resilience, and mitigation as important for developing just and green societies? Then you could be the intern we would like to engage in Oxfam’s climate justice work.
Background
Oxfam Denmark is part of the international confederation Oxfam, that works to fight extreme inequality in the world. As an intern, you will contribute to this work in developing countries, globally, and in Denmark.

Task examples

  • Analysis, mapping and documentation of climate-related topics and processes.
  • Support project-related work within the climate justice thematic areas of Just Energy Transition, Climate Finance and Locally Led Adaptation.
  • Communication work - including newsletters, case stories, and visual presentations.
  • Support planning and facilitating events, workshops and processes related to our climate work – both online and physical.
  • Participate in national and international task teams and networks on Climate Justice.
  • Support internal mainstreaming of climate and environmental issues to reduce Oxfam Denmark´s carbon footprint.

Competencies required

  • You are currently undertaking a master’s degree in Denmark in a relevant field.
  • You are interested in climate justice and international development, and preferably have some practical experience, for example as a volunteer or climate activist.
  • You have good strategic thinking and planning skills that enable you to work with project development.
  • You are capable of working independently and as part of a team to reach a common goal.
  • You possess good writing skills and communicate complex issues in a simple and understandable way – both orally and in writing.
  • You speak and write English fluently. Danish will be an asset.
  • You like being part of a team of good colleagues and engaging in social activities.

We offer
Working hours are 37 hours (full time) per week and the duration of the internship is 5 months starting 01 February 2027. We are flexible in terms of adapting working hours to your studies and any student jobs so 30 to 37 hours per week can be agreed. Read more about the requirements and conditions for doing an internship at Oxfam Denmark at Internship at Oxfam Denmark.

As we cannot offer our interns a salary, it is a requirement that you receive educational funds such as SU. However, we offer you a free lunch scheme (mainly vegetarian) and the opportunity to participate in morning yoga and cultural activities at VOX House.

The workplace is Oxfam Denmark's office at Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, in the new VOX House together with 10 other NGOs, close to Ryparken Station.

Application process
Click on the Apply button and submit your application and CV to us as soon as possible and no later than 15 November 2026. We will conduct interviews soon thereafter.

If you have any questions about the internship, you are welcome to contact Senior Programme Manager for project climate justice, Morten Gøbel Poulsen at [email protected].

Please note that we do not accept applications outside of our recruitment system. We encourage everyone qualified to apply for the position – regardless of ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or age.

To be part of Oxfam, you will need to sign the Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruption policies, and we will obtain your criminal record.
