Student Assistant for Global Tax Governance

Saxo Bank A/S

Would you like to gain hands-on experience at the heart of global tax governance in a regulated financial institution while working closely with experienced tax and compliance professionals?

About the job

We are looking for a motivated Student Assistant to join our Tax Governance & Framework team at Saxo Headquarters in Copenhagen.

The team is responsible for designing, maintaining, and strengthening Saxo Group’s global tax governance framework across regimes such as FATCA, CRS, QI, and other regulatory tax obligations. We work closely with stakeholders across Tax, Operations, Compliance, Legal, IT, and external partners to ensure that tax processes are well governed, well documented, and defensible from both a regulatory and audit perspective.

As a student assistant, you will support the team’s ongoing governance, documentation, and analytical work. You will contribute to practical tasks that underpin regulatory assurance, policy implementation, process development, and internal controls. The role provides broad exposure to global tax compliance topics and offers a solid foundation for a future career in tax, compliance, or risk management. The primary location is Copenhagen, and no travel is expected.

Responsibilities
As a student assistant, you will support both operational and analytical work, including:

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of tax governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting with documentation of tax processes, controls, and risk assessments
  • Supporting analysis and preparation of management and regulatory materials (e.g. dashboards, summaries, presentations)
  • Coordinating with stakeholders across Tax, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and IT
  • Contributing to ad hoc projects related to regulatory changes, tax compliance, and process improvements

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is curious, structured, and eager to learn:

  • You are curious, structured, and motivated by understanding how complex regulatory frameworks are translated into practical processes and controls.
  • You take ownership of your tasks, work carefully with details, and are comfortable handling documentation and analysis.
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and are able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and motivated by contributing to high-quality, well-governed outcomes in a regulated setting.

You are preferably enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree within Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with strong academic results. An interest in tax, regulation, compliance, or risk management is important.

Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is expected. Any prior exposure to tax, compliance, governance, or documentation work is considered an advantage but is not a requirement.

When you work at Saxo, you become a Saxonian and part of a purpose-driven organisation, where good ideas are always taken seriously, and where you can make a true impact.
