Student Assistant, Corporate Strategy - Support strategic decisions and business transformation

Norlys

Location: Aarhus or Copenhagen

Would you like to gain hands-on experience at the centre of strategic decision-making in Denmark's largest integrated energy and telecommunications group? Are you motivated by solving complex business challenges, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to initiatives that support Norlys’ green and digital transformation? Then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Join the team shaping Norlys' strategic agenda

As Student Assistant in Corporate Strategy, you will become part of Norlys’ Corporate Strategy team, working closely with experienced strategy professionals and senior leaders across the business.

You will support strategic projects and analyses that help shape the direction of Norlys and contribute to important business decisions. The role offers broad exposure to executive-level priorities, providing a unique opportunity to develop your analytical, strategic and stakeholder management skills in a dynamic environment.

You will join a newly established strategy function where collaboration, curiosity and professional development are highly valued. We work closely across business areas and support each other in delivering high-quality insights and recommendations that create value for the organisation.

Support strategic projects and executive decision-making

In this role, you will support a wide range of strategic initiatives and analytical tasks across the organisation.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting analyses of complex business challenges and transforming data and insights into decision-ready material
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations, recommendations and business cases for senior leadership and executive forums
  • Collaborating with leaders and stakeholders across commercial, operations, digitalisation, infrastructure, business development and M&A-related initiatives
  • Contributing to strategic projects from problem definition through analysis and recommendation development
  • Supporting the Corporate Strategy team with project management and coordination activities
  • Conducting market, competitor and industry analyses to support strategic decision-making
  • Helping identify opportunities for business development, performance improvement and value creation.

The role requires approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate both project demands and academic commitments, including exam periods.

An ambitious student with a passion for strategy

We imagine that you are in the final stage of your bachelor's degree or in the early stage of your master's degree within Business, Economics, Finance or a similar field.
You are motivated by solving challenging business problems and eager to gain practical experience in strategy and business development. Experience within strategy, management consulting, business development, energy or telecommunications is an advantage, but not a requirement.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • Ongoing studies within Business, Economics, Finance or a related discipline
  • Strong academic performance and a demonstrated ability to work with analytical tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Availability to work approximately 15 hours per week alongside your studies.

And a highlight of your strengths would include:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities
  • A structured and detail-oriented approach to problem solving
  • The ability to convert complex information into clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in strategy, business development and business performance
  • Critical thinking combined with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation
  • A positive attitude and a strong team-player mentality.
