Internship with NLA in Brussels

Nordic Logistics Association

The Nordic Logistics Association (NLA) is looking for a committed and enthusiastic intern to join our team in Brussels from 1 February 2027 to 31 July 2027.

Are you passionate about European politics and interested in the transport sector? Are you interested in working for better conditions for road transport companies in the Nordic countries? Then we would like to hear from you. You will have the chance to work at the heart of European decision making during an exciting time when the EU is focused on competitiveness, resilience and decarbonisation.

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities of the coming decades is the transition to a climate-neutral Europe. As an intern, you will work on legislative proposals affecting road transport cross a broad range of policy areas, including transport, environment and energy. In addition, NLA works with issues related to the labour market, the digital agenda and resilience and military mobility.

You will work in an international environment at the Common Road Transport Office in Brussels, which NLA shares with its German (BGL), French (FNTR) and Dutch (TLN) sister organisations.

Working tasks:

  • Attend and report on meetings in the European Parliament, with stakeholder organisations and conferences in Brussels.
  • Write newsletters, update website and create content for NLA's SoMe platforms.
  • Carry out research and analysis of EU policy initiatives in collaboration with colleagues in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
  • Draft briefing notes.
  • Organise visits and meetings for NLA’s member companies.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate:

  • Can navigate the EU bubble.
  • Is interested in politics at European and national level.
  • Is currently undertaking a degree in social sciences, economics, law or a related field.
  • Has strong written and oral communication skills in English and at least one or the Nordic languages. Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
  • Is proactive and thrives on working with a variety of tasks.

We offer:

  • Monthly contribution covering rent and other expenses.
  • Coverage of travel costs, as well as a round trip to your home country during your stay.
  • Practical experience of working in the EU system.
  • An interesting, dynamic, informal and international workplace with the opportunity to challenge yourself in national and European contexts.

Interested?

Please send your application, CV and relevant supporting documents to by Tuesday 3 November 2026. Online interviews will take place during October and November. The internship is based at NLA's office in Brussels.

For further information about the position, please contact NLA's CEO, Torsten Laksafoss Holbek, at +32 47 404 8005.
