The Position
The professor’s main tasks will be to apply for, manage and lead large innovative research projects. The professor will be expected to strengthen the profile within the humanities and/or social sciences – specifically in the fields of research focused on embodied experiences and movement practices in sports, health and/or performing arts.
The professor will be expected to support the strategies of the Faculty of Health Sciences and SDU and to help form and support the strategy of the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, including the future research strategies of MoCS as well as to be involved in knowledge transfer to society, to have administrative responsibilities and to teach/supervise students at all levels at the education programmes hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The professor will mentor PhD students and junior faculty members and it will be expected that the professor will contribute to the refinement and further development of curriculum on the education programmes offered by The Faculty of Health Sciences.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A PhD degree within movement practices
  • An international leading research profile in relation to embodied experiences and movement practices, documented by a sustained and sizable, high-quality research output in national and international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and books
  • Experience and success with external funding, and a strong potential for successful fundraising of major projects
  • A solid track-record of successful management of research projects or groups as well as successful completion of PhD studies and of externally funded projects
  • Documented record (including positive student evaluations) of ample teaching and supervision experience at all levels relevant for the department’s portfolio of study programmes
  • Strong formalized pedagogical and didactic qualifications and skills and pedagogical leadership as well as solid experience with study programme management and/or development course development and coordination
  • Competencies to engage innovatively and across disciplines in knowledge exchange and collaborations with and for the society

Salary and terms of employment
The successful applicant for the professor position will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
