Academic Student Worker

DIS, Danish Institute for Study Abroad



DIS Stockholm is seeking two Student Workers to support our Academic Administration team. In this role, you will assist with a wide range of academic administrative tasks, working closely with staff and faculty, with occasional student-facing tasks. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change, this position is an opportunity for you to gain experience in an academic study abroad setting and expand your general office and collaboration skills.

This position is open to students studying in undergraduate/graduate programs at institutions across Stockholm (e.g. KTH, KI, SU, KMH, UU, SSE). The role is:

  • part-time (10 hours a week) during the fall and spring semesters
    • 8.00 - 12.00, 2 days a week and occasional evening events
    • Fall semester: late August to mid-December
    • Spring semester: mid-January to early May
  • full-time (40 hours a week) for at least 6 weeks between mid-May to August to support our summer sessions and prepare for the fall semesters
    • 8.00 - 16.00, 5 days a week and occasional events

About our team
The Academic Administration at DIS Stockholm consists of four people: the DIS Director of Academic Operations and Outreach, two Academic Coordinators, and the Academic Assistant. Together, we ensure each semester runs smoothly by providing faculty support and streamlining processes in collaboration with DIS faculty and staff. Your knowledge will be strengthened, and you will gain valuable experience to guide your future career decisions.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Assist in logistical and administrative tasks throughout the academic semester such as scheduling meetings, booking classroom spaces, preparing relevant materials, obtaining supplies, and communicating with relevant staff/contacts
  • Assist in preparing textbooks and support pick-up/drop-off events for students
  • Support IT in coverage and classroom support for faculty
  • Help the Academics team in preparing and executing events, workshops, and seminars across DIS
  • Attend and support the end-of-semester DIS Festival (December 11, 2024)
  • Document academic events by creating, hanging/removing posters in DIS corridors, and posting information on relevant student media and internal platforms
  • Fulfill weekly Student Hub shifts, offering assistance and guidance to students

  • Flexible with working hours, to account for morning support coverage and after-hour events
  • Excellent English (oral & written) is a requirement
  • You have valid Swedish work permission (this position does not come with a work visa)
