Student Assistants for qualitative data collection (2 positions)

Do you have experience with qualitative research methods? Are you interested in the intersection of education, well-being, and vulnerable groups. Would you like to contribute to a European research project? If yes, then this could be your opportunity. Masters students in anthropology, sociology, education, or a similar field are strongly encouraged to apply. All interviews will be conducted in Danish, so fluency in both Danish and English is necessary.

In the field of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), we connect key academic and humanitarian actors with local civil society to give children and families in fragile and humanitarian settings the possibility to thrive. As Student Assistant, you will support the EU-funded research project SCIREARLY.

We are looking for two student assistants to assist with qualitative interviews as part of the European research project aimed at reducing early school leaving and under achievement. The project investigates the challenges faced by vulnerable students during their school years, with a particular focus on young people who have overcome difficult life circumstances and completed primary education. The interviewees will be between 16 and 30 years old and will either be pursuing education or employed. We aim to explore the barriers they have encountered and the factors that have supported them along the way. In addition, we will interview a key resource person who has supported these young people.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct 16 qualitative interviews with young people and adults in Denmark, based on an interview guide (online or offline).
  • Transcribing interviews and assisting with data analysis.

Your personal and professional profile includes:

  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree in anthropology, sociology, education, or a similar field.
  • Strong interest in the intersection of education, well-being, and vulnerable groups.
  • Experience with qualitative methods and interviews.
  • Commitment to knowledge translation that informs practice.
  • Holds strong Danish and English language skills. Interviews will be conducted in Danish, but all project materials are in English.

TERMS & RECRUITMENT PROCESS

You will be employed on a three-month contract (approx November 2024 – February 2025) with an average effort of 8 hours/week, the details of which will be negotiated with the successful candidate. You will be able to work remotely.
