Are you interested in solar cells and energy communities? Do you want to contribute to establishing a community-owned solar rooftop system?
We offer the candidate to join AURORA, an EU-funded project in which community solar rooftop systems will be installed in four technical universities in Europe (Madrid, Evora, Ljubljana and Aarhus) We offer the candidate to contribute to the last part of the project from 1. January 2025 and until 31. May 2025
The candidate will join the project and contribute to:
- The project coordination
- The activities leading to the establishment of a citizen cooperative owning the solar rooftop installation at Aarhus University
- Organizing public meetings to foster climate-friendly behaviour and develop a sense of energy community
Job description
- You will be contributing to establishing the community-owned solar rooftop system at Aarhus University
- You will be responsible for the reporting to EU
- You will be responsible for public outreach and attracting participants to the energy community
- You will be responsible for organizing and coordinating public events to discuss energy transition topics
- You will be working in close contact with other universities in Europe where similar rooftop systems will be installed
- These activities will take place in close collaboration with PhD students and researchers on the energy transition
Your profile
Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in engineering, social science or similar.
- The candidate should have good communication skills and be willing to interact with a diverse audience
- The candidate should have a strong initiative and good abilities to work in groups
- Research experience related to the social aspects of the energy transition is positive but not mandatory
- Experience with energy communities is positive but not mandatory
- Experience with EU projects and reporting
- A good English level is a requirement. A good Danish level is positive but not mandatory
Who we are
The Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Aarhus University is a recently established department researching various disciplines. Within that department, there is a strong research area on modelling energy system to find the most cost-effective strategies to decarbonize our energy system.
The research group lead by Marta Victoria investigates how to integrate large amounts of solar electricity into the grid.
Our research covers the system modelling, but also the policy and societal aspect of integrating solar energy.
