Laboratory assistant for the Blackford Group (ICMM)
Københavns Universitet (KU)
The Blackford Group is seeking a motivated laboratory assistant. The post is available from January 15th, 2025, or soon thereafter and for one year.
Background
The aim of the Blackford Group’s research is to gain a greater understanding of the signaling mechanisms cells use to coordinate DNA double-strand break recognition and repair with cell cycle checkpoint activation and apoptosis. The lab uses cutting-edge bioinformatics, proteomics, microscopy and CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing techniques to answer specific questions related to DNA damage signaling. In doing so, we hope to provide novel insights into carcinogenesis and how it is held at bay by the cell’s DNA damage response system. We also aim to translate our research to develop novel potential cancer treatments.
Job tasks
The tasks performed will vary from week-to-week, but will include:
- Maintaining stocks of supplies and consumables
- Assisting with maintenance of the CCS labs and offices
- Participate in daily and weekly CCS operational routines (deliveries/storage etc)
- Basic laboratory support, such as: Refill pipette tips, cleaning, receive, register and storage of supplies, and assist in collection of samples

Your employment will be at Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of Copenhagen.
