Are you a 3rd-semester master’s student with a focus on corporate sustainability, international business, politics, or financial reporting? Ultranav International ApS, a global player in shipping, is offering a unique opportunity to collaborate on your master’s thesis, combining academic knowledge with hands-on corporate insight.

What We Offer

As part of the thesis collaboration, we offer the following:

1. A thesis topic developed in collaboration with Ultranav, aligned with your academic background and interests. Potential focus areas include:

  • Corporate sustainability reporting (e.g., EU CSRD, ISSB/SEC, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, rating agencies etc.)
  • ESG strategy development (double materiality assessment, execution of strategic initiatives, target-setting etc.)
  • Industry best practices and regulatory changes in marine transportation
  • Deep dives into specific environmental, social, or governance (ESG) topical challenges

2. Hands-on experience solving real-world business challenges in the maritime industry

3. Mentorship and guidance from subject matter experts in sustainability and maritime transportation

4. An opportunity to expand your professional network and make meaningful contributions to a global sustainability effort

For the right candidate, there might be an opportunity to continue with the company following the thesis collaboration.

Requirements
We expect that you have/are:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant master’s degree programme (e.g., sustainability, international business, politics, finance, accounting, shipping) and writing your thesis in Spring 2025
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Curious and eager to expand your knowledge and contribute to solving the challenges of tomorrow for a sustainable maritime transportation industry

We furthermore expect that you are willing to:

  • Co-develop a research question that has business case relevance to Ultranav
  • Present the findings and the thesis itself to Ultranav once the defence has been completed
  • Sign an NDA prior to the commencement of the collaboration
