Web Design and Digital Media Specialist at The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (DME), part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sothern Denmark, offers a part-time position (01.02.2025 - 30.06.2026) as a Student Helper for its military drone project.
The Department for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is located in the inspiring building of Alsion that is place of residence for a number of enterprises in the Science Park: South Jutland Symphony Orchestra and the concert hall of Alsion. Thus, the university has close bonds to the industrial as well as the cultural environment of Sønderborg.
SDU Defense Technology is looking for a versatile and creative Web Design, and Digital Media Specialist to shape our public image, enhance our digital presence, and produce high-quality multimedia content. The student helper is expected to have insight into web design principles, including user experience (UX) and responsive design, as well as proficiency in content management systems like Sitecore. Additionally, they should possess knowledge of photo and video editing tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, and have a solid understanding of public relations strategies, digital communication, and social media management. Familiarity with SEO and basic analytics tools is also a plus.
Assignments of the Student Helper at DME include:
- Update and maintain websites using Sitecore CMS.
- Create and optimize web layouts, ensuring responsiveness.
- Address any technical or design issues on the websites.
- Capture high-quality images for use in campaigns and presentations.
- Record and edit videos for marketing, training, or documentation purposes.
- Enhance visuals using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or similar software.
- Create and schedule posts across platforms.
- Monitor and report on website and social media performance.
The following qualifications and skills are strong assets:
- Proficiency in Sitecore CMS and web development basics (HTML/CSS)
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of SEO principles for web and content.
- Basic knowledge of social media algorithms and content strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and SUL (National Union for Student Teachers in Government Service).
