If you are looking for an exciting opportunity for a Postdoc position, we at Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark is seeking a candidate to work as part of the team in a project focusing on developing an integrated corrosion sensor for Electronic Corrosion monitoring. Environmental degradation of electronics is an important area today due to the widespread use of electronics such as electrification of vehicles and use in connection with renewable energy systems. In this project, the postdoc position will focus on developing and testing suitable sensor PCB design and developing data for AI based models for risk prediction based on sensor output. This postdoc project is part of EUDP funded ECS-Chip project.

Responsibilities and qualifications
User environment such as humidity and gases influence performance of electronic devices due to the failure mechanisms caused by corrosion, which also depends upon the electronics parts operating parameters such as voltage/power for example on PCBA. This is an increasing problem today due to widespread use of electronics as part of various applications. To do pro-active design and maintenance strategy, it is important to mission profile user environment and information can be used for better climate robust design.

ECS-Chip project intended to build an electronic corrosion sensor for corrosion monitoring. The postdoc project will focus on optimizing sensor element design and related experimental work in relation to corrosion measurements under various atmospheric conditions and developing predictive models. The postdoc project will also involve testing and calibration of sensor products at different stages including field testing. You will work in a research team with both academic and industrial partners.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). A PhD degree in Materials Engineering with corrosion and electrochemistry specialization and/or prior experience of work related to corrosion reliability of electronics is an advantage.
