Web Assistant (Student Position)

Role Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy student to join our team as a Web Assistant. In this role, you will support website maintenance, content updates, and digital optimization to ensure our online presence is engaging, accessible, and up-to-date. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web development and digital communications while contributing to meaningful projects.

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Responsibilities
Website Maintenance and Updates:

• Assist in updating website content, including text, images, and multimedia, ensuring accuracy and alignment with branding guidelines.
• Monitor website functionality and address technical issues promptly.

Content Management:

• Use content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) to publish and organize web pages and blog posts.
• Ensure all content is optimized for SEO and adheres to web accessibility standards.

Design and User Experience (UX):

• Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing layouts for new web pages or features.
• Conduct usability tests and recommend improvements to enhance user experience.

Data Analytics and Reporting:

• Track website performance using tools like Google Analytics and provide insights on user behavior and traffic trends.
• Generate reports summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest actionable improvements.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with marketing, communications, and IT teams to coordinate web-based projects.
• Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.

Troubleshooting and Quality Assurance:

• Test website functionality across different browsers and devices to ensure compatibility.
• Identify and resolve broken links, missing assets, and other quality issues.

Learning and Development:

• Stay updated on web development trends, tools, and best practices.
• Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance relevant skills.
