What you’ll do
As a Finance Operations Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our growing financial activity by owning and optimizing financial tools, managing cash flows, and ensuring smooth collaboration with external accountants. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field who is eager to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.
Responsibilities:
- Spendesk Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Spendesk, including payment processing and pre-categorization of transactions across our different entities and geographies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely expense management.
- Cash Management:
- Assist in placing monthly transfers and ensure all payment requests are well-organized for review and approval by senior finance members.
- Support with reconciling cash flow and maintaining accurate records of transactions.
- Accountant Relations:
- Act as a liaison with external accountants to ensure efficient handling of business-as-usual tasks.
- Provide necessary documentation and support for bookkeeping, reporting, and tax compliance.
Job requirements
About you:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Finance, Accounting or a similar field. Alternatively, you already have a finance degree and are looking for part-time work (20 hrs per week mainly onsite in our Berlin office)
- Basic knowledge of financial tools and processes (prior experience with Spendesk or similar tools is a big plus plus).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and reliable, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English (German proficiency is a plus but not required).
