Your new team
As a key member of the expanding global Data & Analytics team, within our IT department, you'll work alongside committed professionals dedicated to ensuring we can shape a greener future through a scalable, compliant, and accurate data foundation and analytics. The team leverages data to drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence, ensuring data accessibility and actionable insights across the company. This is a unique opportunity to influence and shape the future of our data landscape as we transition to the most modern data stack available, enhancing our capabilities in integrations, processing, analysis, and compliance.

This position is an addition to the Data & Analytics team, which is currently composed of a product manager, a data engineer, two analytics engineers, a product owner & data specialist, analytics engineer and a student assistant.

How you will create an impact
The global Data & Analytics team has a deep impact and interested parties across all departments in the company. As a data integration engineer you will be essential in managing and facilitating data flow across our diverse IT landscape. You will be responsible for ensuring that data from various business systems is ingested accurately and efficiently into the Raw area of our data analytics platform. Utilizing our data integration platform, you will orchestrate complex data transfers, guaranteeing that data moves seamlessly from source to target systems.

This role demands a deep understanding of data integration's technical and operational aspects, including the critical need for robust alerting mechanisms to promptly address data transfer failures or data quality issues.

In this role you will

  • Design, implement, and manage data integration processes, ensuring efficient and reliable data ingestion from business systems into the data analytics platform.
  • Utilise the data integration platform to set up and maintain data pipelines, optimizing for performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data integration workflows, including data sources, transformations, and destinations.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to identify and swiftly respond to data transfer failures or data quality errors, minimizing impact on downstream processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensuring that data integrations meet business needs and comply with data governance standards.
  • Stay informed about new data integration technologies and methodologies, continuously seeking ways to improve data integration efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Follow and apply security policies and best practices.
  • Create thorough documentation for data integration pipelines, data sources, transformation logic, and workflows to ensure maintainability and reproducibility.
  • Document metadata (data lineage, definitions, source details, etc.) for each dataset, providing context to stakeholders and other team members.

To thrive in this position, we imagine that you have

  • 5+ years of performing data extraction, transformation, and loading from system to system.
  • proven experience with iPaaS.
  • skill in programming and scripting languages relevant to data integration tasks (e.g., SQL, Python, C#).
  • familiarity with relational (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and non-relational databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, or CosmosDB).
  • experience with REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs for integrating data from various applications and external sources.
  • ability to design, manage, and optimise API calls and webhooks to ensure efficient data transfers.
  • strong knowledge of data quality principles and governance, including data profiling, validation, and monitoring for accuracy.
  • understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) to ensure safe and compliant data handling.
  • knowledge of data quality standards and practices, with the ability to implement processes and tools to monitor and improve data quality.
  • Fluency and clear communication skills in both spoken and written English.
