AAU Energy has campuses in both Aalborg and Esbjerg, this position is in Aalborg.
The mission is to be world leading in both research and research-based education of the energy engineers of the future. AAU Energy has approx. 300 employees of many nationalities, of which 25 are administrative staff. In addition, AAU Energy constantly has approx. 50-70 guest researchers from around the world.
Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent.
The position is offered in relation to the research group“EMI/EMC in Power Electronics" and the Professor will be positioned to the section for“Applied Power Electronic Systems”.
The position requires research qualifications at high international level within electromagnetic interference(EMI) prediction and electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) as well as power quality and stability improvement in the power electronics technology area. The candidate is expected to carry out groundbreaking research in the development of advanced power electronics with optimized EMC for next generation of power electronics-based power grid to facilitate the green transition including major contributions to its standardization at national and international levels. That also include new power electronic systems e.g., for energy saving and emerging areas like datacenters and electrolyzers. Leading activities in the areas of EMI digital modeling for optimized EMC design, closed loop and aggregated impedance modeling at converter and system levels, wide bandgap(WBG) devices switching transients modeling, motor drives EMC and cable modeling as well as innovative filtering solutions are also a part of the position.
The candidate must demonstrate significant experience in conducting and managing research projects at the national and international levels in the field of EMI/EMC in power electronics and its emerging applications. It is expected that the candidate takes a leading role in generating new interdisciplinary research projects that advance the state-of-the-art and contribute to the creation of new research directions within EMC, stability, power quality, filters, and reliability and condition monitoring of modern power electronics converters and systems. This includes collaboration, attracting competitive funding for excellent frontier research, and engaging with relevant technical working groups globally.

Assessment
The assessment of candidates for the position will be carried out by qualified experts.
Shortlisting will be applied. This means that after the application deadline, the head of the department, with the assistance of the hiring committee, will select the applicants to be assessed. All applicants will be informed whether they have been shortlisted for assessment or not.
When the hiring process is completed, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.
