We are looking for a Student Data Engineer to help build and maintain the next generation of our Data Lakehouse to support our quantitative analysts and traders. This is a part-time opportunity (average 15-20 hours/week) to accommodate your university schedule.
About our team
Meet the Investments Engineering team. Our role is to automate and implement trading execution and analytics.
Our team consists of 12 people from 10 different nationalities allocated to different virtual teams co-located in our headquarters in Copenhagen. For this role, you will join an established, cross-disciplinary Value Stream called Investment Agile Development Team (INVADE) where you will work alongside with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Quant Analysts and Trading Technology Specialists as part of Trading within Asset & Wealth Management. As the Student, you will be paired up with a Data Engineer who will be responsible for mentoring and getting you up to speed.

What you’ll be doing
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Developing the INVADE Data Platform, adding new data sources and transformations in response to new business requirements
- Continually improving the platform, adopting new technologies and patterns as they become available
- Supporting the Trading Quant team by working together to optimize the data model and integrating new sources
- Building internal tooling to support both development, as well as the Trading Quant team
- Continue migrating the existing platform into our Lakehouse
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you:
- Have a passion for technology and data
- Are a good communicator, ready to collaborate on various stages of software development and data engineering
- Are able to learn on your feet, and are interested in exploring better ways of working
- Care about good software practices such as SOLID, “Everything-as-code”, automated testing etc.
Your background and skills include:
- Experience working with Python in a data engineering capacity
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with shell and Unix/Linux environments
It would be ideal if you also:
- Worked with Docker
- Have experience with building CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with AWS or other public cloud
- Have experience with building dashboards and python APIs
