Are you passionate about marketing and communication and eager to promote Denmark to U.S. travelers? Would you like to gain hands-on experience working with top U.S. tour operators, travel advisors, booking platforms, and media—all while living in New York City for six months?
If so, you could be the intern we’re looking for!
As a Travel Trade & Marketing Intern at VisitDenmark USA, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working to promote Denmark as a must-visit destination. This internship provides a unique opportunity to engage in both B2B Travel Trade (collaborating with U.S. tour operators, travel advisors, and industry partners) and B2C Marketing (partnering with media, online booking platforms, and industry stakeholders).
During the internship, you’ll receive training and contribute to:
- Leading the production and publication of B2B newsletters.
- Supporting the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing campaigns.
- Conducting market research & competitor analysis.
- Maintaining and monitoring VisitDenmark’s online education platform for travel advisors and tour operators.
- Assisting with the design and optimization of our B2B website.
- Gathering and sharing relevant industry news with tour operators and travel advisors.
- Monitoring and reporting on performance metrics
- Assisting with inquiries about Denmark.
- Handling general office tasks as needed.
Your qualifications and skillset:
To be eligible, the internship must be an integrated part of your degree in tourism, marketing, communication, cultural studies, American studies, or a related field.
Additionally, you must:
- Be enrolled in a Master’s degree program or an equivalent level of education for the entire duration of the internship.
- Be fluent in both Danish and English.
- Be available to live and work in New York City for six months.
- Be independent, proactive, and responsible, as you’ll be part of a small team.
What we offer:
This internship provides a great opportunity to develop skills in marketing, communication, writing, and project management, while gaining international work experience in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
You’ll be based in our Manhattan office near Grand Central Station, working in a friendly and informal environment.
The VisitDenmark U.S. team consists of two full-time and one part-time employee in New York and three team members based in London, who split their time between the U.S. and the U.K.
Internship Details
Duration: August 1, 2025 – January 31, 2026
Compensation: Unpaid, but VisitDenmark will cover:
- U.S. visa costs
- Round-trip flights to/from New York
- Monthly NYC subway travel card
Housing: You’ll be responsible for securing your own accommodation, but we’re happy to provide guidance on living in New York.
