Graduate in our Renewables Division
Semco Maritime A/S
Want to kickstart your career at the heart of the green transition? We’re launching our very first rotation programme in our Renewables Division – an exciting opportunity for curious and driven minds eager to dive deep into the world of renewable energy. Join us in bringing energy to shore – your future starts here!
Your position
On September 1st, 2025, your journey in our Renewables Division begins. As a market leader in offshore substations, we design, build and deliver the critical infrastructure that powers millions of homes with renewable energy. Over an 18-month programme, you will work across the full lifecycle of offshore substations, from concept to commissioning, developing both technical expertise and a broader, cross-functional understanding of how we deliver complex energy solutions. As you move through different departments, expect to be challenged – and supported – as you navigate the demands of each function.
“We’re excited to welcome our first graduates into the team. We believe in designing the programme around you. Together, we’ll co-design your programme, tailoring the rotations to align with your career aspirations and interests,” says Stevan Akrap, Head of Product Line Development.
While your primary base will be at our HQ in Esbjerg, the hub of the Danish energy industry, right on the waterfront (offering the best views in town!), you’ll also have opportunities to travel. Whether it’s visiting some of our other international offices or construction sites, you’ll gain hands-on insight into our global impact.
Your journey
From day one, you'll be at the heart of our projects, actively contributing to the future of renewable energy. You’ll work across several key departments to gain both breadth and depth of experience as well as a cross-functional understanding. Your specific tasks will depend on the rotation programme we design together.
During the programme, you could work with:
- Product Line Management (PLM): Learn how we develop and optimize our substation solutions to shape the future of Semco Maritime’s offerings. Collaborate across disciplines to understand how we create innovative, modular designs.
- Engineering: Dive into the technical design of offshore substations. Whether it’s electrical systems from high-voltage to low-voltage or protection & control systems, you’ll gain practical experience with the tools and methodologies that turn ideas into real-world infrastructure.
- EPC Management: Gain hands-on experience in coordinating project phases, ensuring that all aspects are aligned and executed efficiently and to the highest possible safety standards. Support project managers overseeing project timelines, budgets and quality standards, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful offshore substation projects.
- Supply Chain: Develop a strong foundation in procurement and contract management by working closely with teams sourcing the high-value components that power offshore substations. Spend time understanding what we buy, why it matters and how it all fits together to support seamless project execution.
- Construction: Step onto the construction site and experience firsthand how offshore substations come to life. Work with commissioning standards, partner interactions and project execution to gain a full understanding of the commissioning process.
Throughout the programme, you'll receive full support with personal development sessions and mentoring during each rotation and training camps to familiarize you with our strategy, safety culture, sustainability and innovation. When the programme ends, our aim is to match you with a full-time position within Semco Maritime that aligns with your skills and interests.
Your profile & qualifications
We are looking for someone naturally curious with an explorer mindset and eager to make an impact in the renewable energy sector. While the role will offer steep learning opportunities, it will also push you to stretch your abilities, think critically and adapt to new situations as they arise. What truly matters is your genuine interest in understanding the many facets of our operations and how different departments and teams collaborate to deliver complex renewable energy projects.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you:
- Hold a degree in engineering (e.g., marine or electrical) and have graduated within the last two years.
- Are good at being around people and have strong interpersonal skills - you’ll be working across teams and disciplines.
- Have solid English language skills and enjoy working in diverse, multi-cultural environments.
- Feel excited by the opportunity to travel to other Semco locations (e.g., Poland) and onshore construction sites.
- Have a natural curiosity about the world around you and are eager to learn from colleagues, partners and new challenges.
