Student Platform Engineer
WhiteAway Group
Do you get excited about AWS-based platforms, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and GitOps-driven workflows? Are you passionate about building secure, scalable, and automated cloud foundations for development teams?
Whiteaway Group has grown from a start-up to a successful retailer, selling and shipping household appliances to customers in all of Scandinavia. It all started as an idea, a clear customer focus, and a digital mindset. This is still who we are – we’re change-makers at heart.
We offer an ambitious learning experience built on real responsibility. You’ll be paired with a mentor who supports your growth, but you’ll also be expected to take ownership and contribute as an equal and trusted member of the Platform squad.
You’ll join a skilled and dedicated tech setup, where curiosity, quality, and accountability matter. As our Student Platform Engineer, you’ll work on real applications and services and contribute to valuable digital solutions from day one.
This role is for students who want more than a typical student job and are motivated by responsibility, learning fast, and working with real production systems.
You’ll get to
- Be part of a platform engineering team, taking ownership of tasks while building shared infrastructure, tooling, and automation that supports our product teams.
- Work with a GitOps and CI/CD mindset, where changes are version-controlled, automated, and shipped frequently, including contributions that reach production.
- Gain hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, including AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling used in production.
We imagine that you
- Are enrolled in a relevant degree (e.g. IT Technology, Computer Science, Software Technology Engineering, IKT, or similar).
- Are comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken.
- Have basic experience with Git/GitHub, for example through student projects or personal work.
- Have some familiarity with cloud, containers, or networking (a plus, not a requirement).
- Are curious, collaborative, and motivated to learn.
We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, including:
- Teambuilding and professional events that encourage growth and collaboration.
- Close support and feedback in your daily work to help you learn and develop.
- Flexibility in shaping your workday, within the team’s framework.
- A caring and social culture with engaged colleagues and an active employee community.
We're committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. If you require specific accommodations during the hiring process or within our workplace, please let us know so we can ensure your application process is as accessible as possible.
