Do you want to support undergraduate students from U.S. universities develop meaningful experiences during their semester abroad? The Housing Community Assistant serves as a conduit for students seeking information, guidance, and support related to their housing experience, health, well-being, and logistical aspects to their study abroad experience, as well as helping facilitate student events and activities.
As the Housing Community Assistant in the Student Life Department, you will obtain practical skills revolving around service and intercultural communication through day-to-day operations and while playing an important role in managing projects. You will be part of the Housing Community Team and report to the Housing Community Manager.
This Assistant position is a full-time internship 15 months, as a part of the DIS Post-Graduate Internship Program for alumni. Read more about the program here

Who are you?
- Independently motivated / self-starter / pro-active in your work
- Organized and pay attention to detail and deadlines
- Enjoy face-to-face interactions with our many students – incl. potentially having difficult conversations with students dealing with roommate conflicts.
- Clear in written and verbal communication
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Excel
- Outgoing, creative and service-minded
- Experienced in working within “student housing” (RA job or similar)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct service to students at the Student Hub regarding practical/logistical aspects of studying at DIS and living in Denmark (assist students with navigating the healthcare system, Residence Permit application, CPR Registration, etc.)
- Assist with planning and running events at the students’ housing sites and the Student Hub e.g., workshops / communal dinners etc. (sometimes outside of “regular” working hours)
- Opportunity to “run” your own housing site – incl. arranging events at the site, and potentially helping deal with roommate conflicts etc.
- Help support the team of 10 Community Advisors with preparing materials for Arrival Day, workshops at the housing sites, helping run events or set-up etc.
- Become a superuser of our DIS Navigate app and assist with setting up events in the app
- Help with International Educators’ Workshop in various capacities
- General office and task assistance
- As requested by the Study Tour Department, you will have the opportunity to co-lead study tours
