Moonrise by Lunar is revolutionizing the banking industry and we're on the lookout for a Sales Engineer to join our mission! Get ready to be the technical architect behind enterprise deals. We are looking for a builder and a closer—someone who can map our standardized capabilities to complex client use cases, while simultaneously identifying gaps that will help shape the future of our product.
We've spent the last 9 years in Lunar developing innovative tech and product solutions for users and businesses. Now, we are opening up our technology to fintechs, allowing them access to local accounts and payments via modern APIs. This is Moonrise by Lunar and we want you to be part of it! This role can be located in our Århus, Copenhagen or Stockholm offices. You will report to General Manager, Nanna Bergmann.
We're on the hunt for an experienced Sales Engineer to join Moonrise. You will work in tandem with our Sales Executives, acting as the primary technical voice during the sales cycle.
While the Executive manages the commercial negotiation, you own the solution outline and technical engagement. You will be the trusted advisor to our clients' Product Heads and Developers. Our solution is a standardized platform, but every client uses our tools differently. Your goal is to deeply understand their specific use case, explain the nuance of our offering (especially regarding local clearing and payment rails), and feed those client desires back into our internal teams to drive the evolution of our platform.
Here's what you'll get to do:
- Partner with Sales: Work side-by-side with Sales Executives on mid- and enterprise-level deals. You own the technical discovery, ensuring we are the right fit for the client and the client is the right fit for our platform.
- Master the Nuance: Ensure clients fully understand the capabilities and limitations of local clearing systems and payment rails. You will guide them on how to construct their payment flows using our APIs to achieve their unique business goals.
- Interface with Builders: You will be the peer to our clients' Product Heads and Developers. You will speak their language, answer their deep architectural questions, and build trust through technical competence.
- Shape the Roadmap: This is where the startup environment shines. You will act as the "Voice of the Market" to our internal Product and Tech teams. You will aggregate client feedback and technical requirements to help us prioritize new features and further develop our standardized solution offering.
- Technical Evangelism: Attend events and client meetings across the Nordics and internationally, representing the technical strength of the Moonrise platform

- Experience: 3–5 years in a technical client-facing role (Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect) ideally within fintech or payments
- Payment Intuition: Ideally, you understand the fundamentals of how money moves (clearing, settlement, cross-border). You don't need to be a deep expert on day one, but you must be eager to master the nuances of the Nordic and European payment rails we operate on
- Technical Fluency: Ability to read and explain REST API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) and confidently lead architectural discussions with developers
- Product Strategist: You can map complex client needs to our standardized platform and effectively relay market gaps to our internal Product teams
- Clear Communicator: You excel at translating heavy technical banking concepts into clear business value for stakeholders.
