Constructing Architect Intern

In our Copenhagen office, we are always looking for talented and self-motivated students of architectural technology and construction (Bygningskonstruktør) who are eager to learn, contribute and develop their skills.
As an Intern at BIG, you will become part of a dynamic and international creative community. You will work alongside experienced architects and designers on projects across different typologies, locations and scales, while taking part in an environment shaped by collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning.
Please note: This internship is specifically for students enrolled in the Bygningskonstruktør (Architectural Technology & Construction Management) programme. Candidates with other educational backgrounds should apply for our other available internship positions.
The role
As a Constructing Architect Intern, you will contribute to the technical development and realization of complex architectural projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help translate architectural concepts into technically viable solutions, while developing your skills in BIM, detailing, constructability and building technology.
Your work may include:
- Contributing to Danish and international projects
- Developing building interfaces and technical solutions based on architectural concepts
- Supporting the development of project principles, details and building technology
- Working with BIM models and developing your understanding of modelling principles and office standards
- Assisting with BIM efforts
- Collaborating with architects, engineers and external consultants
- Participating in project meetings and other multidisciplinary coordination
- Developing your knowledge of complex BIM projects and construction processes
- Participating in construction site visits
As you develop in the role, you will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility and contribute to the development of technical and architectural solutions. You will gain insight into how complex architectural ideas are translated into buildable solutions and develop a deeper understanding of materials, construction methods and building regulations.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate:
- Is currently enrolled in the Bygningskonstruktør (Architectural Technology & Construction Management) programme
- Has knowledge and experience with Revit
- Has a strong interest in the technical aspects of architecture and construction
- Is curious about complex architecture and sees detailing and constructability as opportunities to develop your skills
- Is open-minded towards new materials, technologies and ways of developing technical solutions
- Is flexible and open to new ways of working
- Can work effectively under pressure as part of a team
- Can take initiative while responding constructively to direction and feedback
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Is fluent in English
