Are you a design student currently enrolled at a design school or technical university, looking for an inspiring internship where you can deepen your understanding of textiles, colour, materials and design development?
Sahco is looking for a Design Development Intern to join our Design team in Copenhagen for the Spring 2027 semester.
The internship will ideally begin in January or early February 2027, depending on your study programme, and will run for a minimum of five months.
As a Design Development Intern, you will work closely with the Sahco Design team and gain hands-on experience across the development of upcoming curtain and upholstery collections. You will support the creative development process from research and artworks to colour, sampling and collection preparation, while collaborating with colleagues across different departments and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of curtain and upholstery textiles for upcoming Sahco collections
- Assist in the development and preparation of artworks for the collection
- Conduct research into colour, materials, artworks, competitors and seasonal inspiration
- Assist with colour cards, textile sampling and preparation for testing
- Cut, prepare and organise textile samples
- Maintain and update digital collection and development overviews
- Organise current collection samples and contribute to maintaining the textile archive
- Support presentations, office planning and project coordination
- Assist with sample shipments, courier services and logistics coordination
- Support the Design team with ongoing seasonal tasks and collection development
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing an education in textile design, fashion design or a related design field
- A strong interest in woven textiles, colour and materiality
- A strong sense of colour and attention to detail
- Highly organised, proactive and adaptable
- Able to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- A collaborative team player with strong written and spoken English skills
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, with a good working knowledge of Excel
- Experience working with digital artworks is an advantage
- Comfortable working independently, taking initiative and finding solutions
