Wanted to broaden my field of expertise from arctic marine biology to also encompass the methodologies from ecological land-based agriculture which is master classed in Denmark to achieve a more international oriented professional profile. Ecological and sustainable methods as such are equally important when growing food under water as above water to be able to nurture the increasing world population.
Scope: To acquire a holistic understanding of agro-ecosystem processes and dynamic interactions between agricultural production, nature and environmental management. To understand local “in-field” biodiversity and bio-dynamical growth obtained by replacing chemicals by natural resources to achieve a nature-balanced bio-system and ultimately avoid xenobiotics. The thesis in the study conducted detailed insights of scavenging in predatory ground beetles and their beneficial role in food-webs.
