Engineer Internship
DEIF A/S
Would you like to apply your education as an engineer in practice, and at the same time work as an intern in an international environment? Each semester we offer internships to talented engineering students and we focus on developing internships that challenge and not least prepare our interns for their future career. So, are you ready to take the next step in your career? Then you might be our next intern!
An internship with us
Each year, DEIFs development department usually employ two engineering students each semester (spring and autumn) in a 20-weeks internship. The development department’s primary task is product development of decentralised power management for power plant controls. During your internship, you will have many opportunities to explore the areas that you find exiting and you will take part in deciding which areas you want to work with during your internship.
As an engineer student with DEIF, you will participate in the same way as the development engineer in a small team of 2-4 persons. Being a part of the team will challenges you in e.g. construction of automated function test of products with regard to autonomous verification of function and accuracy of measurement and response times, or software development of functions for DEIF’s products (C/C++ environment).
DEIF’s software development is typically based on a Linux environment with a large degree of automation in testing. We use version control, review structure and code analysis.
DEIF has simulation as well as real-life test equipment for final testing of the development task; for example three generator sets that can also be used for providing heating and electricity to the factory.
As a person, you must have a natural interest in software, electronics or high voltage current, and be able to work independently and in groups. You master written and spoken English
We would like to stress the fact that the internship is a part of the engineer students education, at a Danish University, and therefore not a possibility if you have already completed your education.
DEIF offers housing during your internship
KIS stands for "Career in Skive". The KIS House is a housing environment for students and highly qualified new employees in the companies in the Skive area. The KIS House gives you an optimal start to your career in a homely environment with a social community and a strong professional network.
The KIS House is centrally located on the street Rådhuspladsen in Skive, and it contains 13 furnished flats with their own bathroom and WIFI, as well as a number of common areas such as kitchen, dining room, tv room and “play-areas” with table football and table tennis.
When you stay in the KIS House, you will be invited to participate in social events as well as professional activities, such as company visits, participation in selected networks and inspirational meetings.
DEIF will pay the monthly rent including heating, water, power and internet during your internship.
What can you expect to find at DEIF?
The core of our values is respect for the individual, ambition to become better at all times, and an understanding of our organisation as a whole. We believe that the values grow the best in an informal working environment characterised by freedom with responsibility and a flat organisational structure, where many tasks are performed in close cooperation across the organisation.
DEIF is very concerned with corporate social responsibility as well as social responsibility, and we have a very special focus on sustainability. We have introduced our own code of conduct, which are based on internationally recognised conventions on human rights, labour rights, safety & environment and anti-corruption.
Maybe that is why DEIF came in second in the national competition to become the best workplace in Denmark in 2017 at the 3F labour Union’s business & growth conference ‘Vision Denmark’. A competition where organisations are nominated by employees only.
