Role Description
This is a part-time role (20 hours/week) for a student assistant located in Copenhagen, Denmark. As an Student Assistant - UX/Visual Designer, you work closely with UX and Design Colleagues to help enhance Maersk’s digital products with a stunning, usable, accessible UI. Collaborating with and across teams of product managers, designers, and engineers, your focus will be developing high-quality, elegant, and consistent designs that make our digital products intuitive and efficient. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Follow best practices in layout, typography, visual hierarchy, data visualization, accessibility in digital interface design across multiple platforms and screen sizes.
  • Create visually appealing and consistent designs, aligned with the brand’s visual identity and design system.
  • Ensure that the interactions are intuitive and enhance the overall user experience.
  • Innovate and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs with insights from our senior design team.
  • Conduct usability testing to gather feedback on the design and identify areas for improvement.
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing results.
  • Actively participate in design reviews, providing input and learning from experienced team members.
  • Work with other designers and engineers to expand, improve, and support our design system and component library.
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including design specifications and style guides.
  • Review feasibility of designs and hand designs over to developers, guiding developers until the final product accurately matches the designs.
  • Organize design assets and files to facilitate collaboration with the development team.
  • Stay updated on design trends, tools, and industry best practices.

We mostly do user interviews online via Teams, since our work has a global scope. However, some lighter travel activity might occur, if this aligns with your studies and other plans and situation, of course.
We will provide guidance, onboarding and coaching, and you will be assigned a "buddy" who will help you get started and settled in. We are very open to experimenting with methods and we hope to co-create and explore new approaches together with you. We will value your input and fresh perspectives.

About our team
We are a strategic design team that's part of a bigger design structure in Maersk. Our team covers the end-to-end customer experience of our digital platforms. This makes us responsible for collaborating closely with many other design, product and tech teams across the organisation who will help shape our research scope and ultimately apply our insights.

About you
You have completed a bachelor's degree
You are currently enrolled in a Master's degree in (Digital) Design, Digital Innovation, Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship, Ethnography or related fields
You have at least 1 year remaining of your studies
Previous experience in visual designing is a plus
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills is a huge plus
