Student Assistant for Risk Management on the Fehmarn Belt Project

Are you looking for valuable experience to relate theoretical studies in Risk management to real-world application, while working on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Northern Europe? Then join us as our new Student Assistant for Risk Management on the Fehmarn Belt Project!

About the role
In this position, you will join the Risk Management team, which consists of a Head of Risk Management and a Senior Risk Manager, both of whom will help you get acquainted with the tasks. In Risk Management, we ensure that the project stays on schedule and within budget by identifying risks, analyzing them, and implementing appropriate mitigation plans.

The team is relatively new, which presents a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact together. This also provides the chance to leave your mark and influence the direction of our work.

Your Tasks
There will be a gradual introduction to the tasks you will work with, which will be adapted to both managerial priorities, your onboarding and interests. To ensure a smooth onboarding process within the role and organization, the initial tasks will be of manageable complexity, such as

  • Scheduling meetings
  • Writing minutes
  • Simple Excel analyses
  • PowerPoint presentation material

From there, your tasks can expand to include:

  • Conducting various risk meetings
  • Becoming a superuser in the risk management software Predict
  • Conducting complex analyses
  • Producing decision-making material for the management

Your Qualifications
While prior experience in risk management is not mandatory, you should have considered why this field intrigues you and demonstrate a curiosity about specializing in it. We have high expectations for your problem-solving approach, maturity in interactions with colleagues, and ability to learn swiftly.

Additionally, we would like to see that:

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or have just started a Master's degree, ideally in a field related to construction, risk or project management, economics or mathematics benefiting from knowledge in these fields.
  • You are proactive and seek answers independently in your approach to tasks
  • You have good English skills as the organization is English-speaking
  • You possess good analytical skills
  • You have good knowledge of Excel
  • You are familiar with Outlook and PowerPoint

Specialization and Career Path
Risk management is a central part of the project manager's field and an area that is gaining more and more focus in the construction industry. In this position, you get a unique opportunity to specialize in risk management and work with the largest and most complex ongoing construction project in the country.

Salary and Employment Terms
On a weekly basis, you will work an average of 15 hours, which can be adjusted according to your school schedule and exam period. Your primary workplace is Sund & Bælts headoffice centrally located in Copenhagen. The company also has offices in Halskov, Rødbyhavn and on Fehmarn in Germany.
