THINK is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health and well-being for vulnerable communities both locally and globally. Our work encompasses research, health systems strengthening, and capacity building, focusing on addressing a wide range of critical health challenges including Infectious Diseases, Mental Health, Gender disparities, and building resilient healthcare systems in the face of pandemics and climate change. THINK collaborates with local communities, government consortia, and international funders to provide care and conduct groundbreaking work that has made a significant impact both locally and globally.
This internship will be located in our head office in Durban, South Africa and is open for international foreign students, as a collaboration with European universities.
Job Description:
We are seeking an independent intern with drive and passion for contributing to the fundraising efforts of THINK’s South African Office in Durban and engaging people to join our mission of making a difference in Global Health. You will work with various fundraising tasks, with support and guidance from your colleagues and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Assist in creating compelling fundraising materials and grant proposals.
- Contribute to the maintenance of donor databases and records.
- Assist in preparing donor and partnership meetings and developing pitch decks.
- Support fundraising efforts in our other country offices including Eswatini, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Denmark.
- Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies for THINK.
- Part take in business development initiatives and support the organizational expansion initiatives
- Collaborate with the communications team to promote fundraising initiatives on social media platforms.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a relevant academic program (Business Administration, Marketing, Global Development, International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Global Health, etc.).
- Previous experience in similar positions, such as a student position or volunteer position, is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Passion for global health, fundraising, business development and making a difference.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to work independently.
- Fluent in English.

The internship is preferably a full-time position, but working hours can be adjusted to accommodate exam periods and other student jobs. This is an unpaid internship position, starting in February 2025 and lasting for 5 months (subject to university agreement).
