The position
As a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian with a digital mindset at Novo Nordisk, you will work as an integrated part of the veterinary team, but with special tasks within digitalisation.
Tasks within digitalisation will be:
- Driving digitalisation initiatives, implementing and managing digital tools and IT systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement digital strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Providing training and support to staff on the effective use of digital tools and systems, and identify areas for digital improvement and optimisation within the veterinary and research domains
- Providing guidance on anaesthesia, analgesia, pain management, sampling, postoperative care, and autopsies, as well as contributing to the formal and informal training of all staff working with animals
- Overseeing animal health in the animal facilities, provide individual or group treatment according to best practices, and offer guidance on project-related protocols involving experimental work and relevant regulations and guidelines within Laboratory Animal Science
- Ensuring adherence to Novo Nordisk bioethical guidelines and advise on 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and state-of-the-art animal welfare standards, while collaborating with other laboratory animal veterinarians on a 7 on-call rotation
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Danish authorisation as a veterinarian
- A Danish Course in Laboratory Animal Science (EU Function AD, formerly known as FELASA B)
- Excellent IT skills with a flair for data handling
- Laboratory animal experience or postgraduate research experience in biomedical science preferred, but recent graduates will also be considered
- Passion for animal welfare.

You are highly motivated, capable of showing initiative, and adept at working independently to achieve set objectives. Your ability to thrive in a changing environment with numerous diverse tasks showcases your adaptability and resilience, making you well-equipped to handle dynamic work settings.
About the department
You will be joining our enthusiastic and experienced veterinary team, supporting researchers, laboratory technicians, and animal technicians with expert specialised veterinary advice and assistance. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and providing the necessary support for successful biomedical research.
