The position
As Associate Ethics and Privacy Counsel, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Handle our mailbox and provide risk-based advice to the organisation on how to identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection and data ethics risks
- Drive data ethics and data protection compliance initiatives by ensuring solid implementation and coordination globally
- Develop and deliver engaging guidance and training to stakeholders to increase competencies and awareness regarding personal data protection and data ethics
- Conduct data protection impact assessments and assist in handling data breaches
- Help with practical tasks on an ad hoc basis.
Additionally, we expect you to think big on strategic issues, execute complex projects, engage with relevant stakeholders both internally and externally, and be a great team player.

Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree in law and have 0-2 years of practical legal or compliance experience. Other success criteria are:
- Strong understanding of global data ethics and privacy laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to incorporate complex legal requirements into a business context
- Great people skills and a fast learner
- Fluency in English
- Experience from a relevant student job or current job is a plus

About the department
DEPA is an energetic team of 8 employees and a manager. Our daily work includes close collaboration with two project managers and three business support colleagues located in India. You will therefore get 13 close colleagues. We are responsible for developing and driving the global data protection and AI ethics compliance program in Novo Nordisk to comply with relevant legislation including GDPR and the upcoming EU AI Act. DEPA works with a global network of more than 150 personal data protection anchors out in the Line of Business and is closely aligned with a 400+ strong global legal, ethics and compliance organisation.
We are part of the Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO), which is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global ethics and compliance strategy which includes personal data, AI, human rights, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption.
