Good architecture is sustainable architecture. At Henning Larsen, we consider sustainability a design driver, working to ensure that all project phases are qualified in terms of sustainability. If you are interested in our design with knowledge philosophy and wish to be part of our R&D team, we invite you to join us for a 6-12 month internship. You will be part of a dynamic and dedicated group of architects, urban planners, landscape architects, computational designers, anthropologists, and sustainability engineers working on the development of esteemed international projects and competitions. We are looking for an intern who wants to work with sustainability and Life Cycle Assessments on Henning Larsen projects.
Job Description
- LCA calculations of buildings and building components. (Assist in evaluating the environmental impacts of different materials and construction systems throughout their entire lifecycle—from raw material extraction to disposal or recycling.)
- Material knowledge exploration, through meetings with manufacturers and EPD data. (Engage in research, conferences, and meetings with material manufacturers to deepen understanding of sustainable building materials.)
- Early-stage assessments, structuring inputs, and quantifying design solutions
- Data collection and reporting (Support the team in gathering, analyzing, and organizing LCA data using specialized software (e.g., LCAbyg, One Click LCA) and prepare sustainability reports internally and for clients.
Qualifications
We offer intern positions for 6-12 months in our Copenhagen office, with the opportunity for extension. You will be part of a curious and multidisciplinary department, where architecture and engineering work together to develop sustainable cities and buildings.
Henning Larsen is a dynamic, international studio where you, as an intern, will get the opportunity to work with sustainable design in international projects and competitions. The goal is for you to develop competencies within a variety of fields, be able to work independently with LCA calculations, and communicate results effectively to our design teams. At the same time, you can expect gaining an in-depth understanding of how we design with knowledge in practice.
