VIE - Strategy and Business Analyst - Power Derivatives

Are you ready to kickstart your career with the leading pan-European market infrastructure? Nord Pool, as part of Euronext, is seeking a dynamic candidate to join our Diversified Services department as an International Graduate (V.I.E).

To support its expansion into Power Derivatives, Nord Pool is looking for a Strategy and Business Analyst V.I.E to join the team from February 2025, for an initial period of 12 months (can be extended).

You will be involved in the launch of this new segment, contributing to business development, project management and other activities to support the growth of the business.

This is a unique opportunity to grow in a demanding role, reporting directly to the Head of Power Derivatives, and working in close collaboration with various departments of the company.

It is also a great opportunity to learn more about the European electricity markets (both physical and financial) and energy trading.

You will be primarily responsible for:

• Work with relevant departments in the company / Euronext Group involved in the launch of Power Derivatives; participate in meetings with them and ensure alignment between teams.
• Monitor the competitive landscape of services and products in the Power Derivative space, conducts screening analysis to identify business targets, and ensures the reporting of the department.
• Undertake market analysis to identify market opportunities and customer needs, using desktop research, meetings with clients and partners and attendance in selected conferences.
• Support the onboarding process of new clients, working hand in hand with Nord Pool sales team and Euronext membership department.
• Produce good quality materials (spreadsheets, presentation slides) that effectively communicate results, conclusions and suggested courses of action.
• Analyze the performance of the business, identify potential improvements and propose actionable solutions.
• Participate in strategy process updates, M&A process, meetings with potential partners.

Your profile:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field
• At least a first successful internship or work experience in the energy industry and/or in strategy consulting and/or in a fast growing business
• Experience in analyzing data and in creating reports and presentations
• Fluent in English
• Solid interest in energy economics, power markets and energy in general
• Experience in project management
• Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Command of Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI is a plus
• Fast learner, proactive behavior and entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to multitask depending on priorities of the moment
