Overview
We are looking for a Metallurgist with strong analytical skills
Join our Materials Engineering group, a global competence and knowledge center that primarily supports our manufacturing facilities in Denmark and Brazil. Our products operate under extreme conditions, requiring optimal technical solutions to achieve the desired performance. Our team comprises over 50 engineers and technicians with expertise in steels, polymers, and composite materials. We take pride in our high technical standards and professional approach.
As a Metallurgist, you will be at the forefront of pushing the limits of current materials and technologies. Your contributions will have a significant impact across various stages of production, from sales and design to manufacturing and pipe installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate the reliability and integrity of materials used in flexible pipes.
- Provide internal consultancy for material selection and design guidelines.
- Develop robust methodologies for material selection.
Your Focus:
- Conduct tests to assess the reliability of metals against CO2 corrosion, CO2 Stress Corrosion Cracking, and other degradation mechanisms.
- Consolidate test results and enhance the usage and validity range of existing materials.
- Support the development of methodologies for internal simulation tools.
- Serve as a technical advisor on topics such as corrosion rate prediction, pH levels, and environmental impacts, leveraging your knowledge in chemistry, mass transport, and thermodynamics.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Plan and design tests in collaboration with skilled technicians.
- Consolidate test results and create PowerPoint presentations for clients.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and third-party verification authorities on corrosion, materials integrity, quality, and selection methodologies.
- Take overall responsibility for NOV methodology within your Area of Responsibility (AoR).
Travel Expectations: Approximately 10-30 travel days per year.
Who are you?
- Graduate or postgraduate degree (preferred) in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Strong professional skills with a keen interest and knowledge in metals, corrosion, testing, and electrochemistry.
- Proficient in data handling and using scripting tools such as Python.
- Persistent and structured in your approach to tasks.
- Capable of grasping and managing complex and intricate problems.
- Proficient in English, our corporate language.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
