The Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Hvidovre Hospital is hiring a researcher with a background in epidemiology, statistics, data science, bioinformatics, medicine, or similar to join the data science team.
At the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, we're passionate about making a real difference in women's lives. Our research directly impacts diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of reproductive health conditions, shaping guidelines and clinical practice.
As a part of the data science team, you will:
- Conduct registry-based analyses using cutting-edge causal inference methods, including emulated target trials, to draw robust conclusions from observational data.
- Develop and validate analytical pipelines for large healthcare and socioeconomic datasets.
- Collaborate with clinical researchers to translate research findings into improved clinical practice and guidelines.
- Contribute to the advancement of precision medicine in women's health broadly and gynecology, obstetrics, and reproductive medicine specifically.
Our data science team plays a crucial role in translating complex data into actionable insights that directly improve patient care and outcomes in women's health. You will be part of a highly intradisciplinary environment, in which medical doctors, biologists, and data scientists openly discuss issues and solutions to advance precision medicine within the broad area of women’s health.

Qualifications
- Background in epidemiology, statistics, data science, bioinformatics, medicine, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience analyzing real world data (Claims data, electronic health records, or patient registries, secondary RCT analysis, or similar).
- Proficiency in Python or R, with data manipulation and visualization experience.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Preferred, but not essential,
- Knowledge of basic concepts on gynecology, obstetrics, or reproductive physiology to facilitate effective collaboration with clinical researchers.
- Familiarity with workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake) for building and maintaining robust data analysis pipelines.
- Experience with git version control for collaborative code development and project management.

The position is full-time, 37/hours per week. The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the relevant union.
The position is limited to a one-year period but can be extended.
