At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Electronic Systems, a position as Research Assistant in connectivity is open for appointment from February 15, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is available for 12 months.

This posting is for a research assistant in the research group on Connectivity. You will be working a project researching physical layer digital twin systems for integrated sensing and ultra-reliable communications.

Tasks:
Development a measurement platform to measure wideband channel responses between multiple ultra wideband tags and integrating information extracted from measurements into a physical layer digital twin system capable of assisting an integrated sensing and communication system by supplying propagation characteristics, geometric information, and estimates of statistical properties for ultra reliability.

Requirements:

  • Profiency in communicating and writing scientific papers in English.
  • Programming experience in python and C++.
  • Familiarity with developing software for the line of UWB chips from Quorvo.

Experience with the following areas is an advantage:

  • Prediction of channel statistics for ultra reliability.
  • Localization using radio frequency signals.
  • Physical layer digital twin system.
  • Physical layer modelling of antenna systems and wireless communication channels.
  • Machine learning and optimization.

The research group on connectivity works on concepts for communication and networking in wireless systems, such as the emerging 6G technology, but also in a broader sense, using the methods of communication theory. The research activities are organized in six groups:

  • Interplay of Machine Learning(ML) and communications, dealing with the questions how ML and foundational models are changing the communication protocols.
  • Low-latency and time-constrained communication
  • Satellite Communications and Non-Terrestrial Networks
  • Integrated Communication and Sensing
  • Experimental work on Open Radio Access Networks(O-RAN)
  • Quantum communications

Qualification requirements
The required level of qualifications is at master level.

Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Assessment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state(AC collective agreement)(only in Danish) and circular concerning protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities(only in Danish).
