2025 MB Shipbrokers Trainee - Copenhagen
MB Shipbrokers is active across all sectors of the shipping industry. Here, you will have the chance to specialise in a particular segment or area that aligns with your interests. By joining our dynamic, international team, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the shipping industry, with a specialised focus on shipbroking.
We are looking for trainees to join our Sale & Purchase, Chartering, and Newbuildings departments, across various segments, at our Copenhagen office!
At MB Shipbrokers, we offer three distinct entry-level programmes:
CBS Interns: As a CBS student studying International Shipping & Trade, you will have the opportunity to join MB Shipbrokers for a full-time internship during your third year of study. The programme includes a 25-hour internship alongside a 12-hour paid role, giving you hands-on experience in the shipping industry while completing your education.
2-year Shipbroker Trainee: This two-year programme combines theoretical education through the Danish Shipping Academy with practical, on-the-job training through mentoring, allowing you to develop the skills needed to succeed in shipbroking. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be offered permanent employment with us.
Fast-track Trainee: If you have previous relevant experience or a degree in shipping, the fast-track trainee position offers an accelerated path to becoming a shipbroker. You will receive intensive training and mentoring, allowing you to quickly integrate into the team and contribute to our work.
Please indicate which entry-level programme you are applying for when submitting your application.
What we are looking for – your personality holds the key to success:
As a shipbroker trainee, you will enjoy the process of gradually building your knowledge, viewing your work as a continuous learning experience. You will thrive in working with people, building meaningful partnerships, and will have a strong interest in international business, allowing you to engage with diverse perspectives and global markets. With excellent communication skills and a curiosity-driven mindset, you will flourish in an environment where continuous improvement is both encouraged and expected. You will be proactive, capable of working independently while being a reliable team player, and will approach challenges with patience and perseverance, understanding that progress takes time and requires a steady, thoughtful approach.
What we offer to you:
At MB Shipbrokers, you will become part of a globally recognized shipbroking company with over a century of experience, a strong international presence, and commitment to delivering excellence for our clients.
Despite the busy nature of shipping, we recognize the importance of life outside of work and are committed to promoting balance and fostering a sense of community among our employees. With flexible working hours, weekly workout sessions, weekly access to padel courts, and occasional social events, we provide opportunities for employees to stay active, build camaraderie, and make all ends meet in their everyday lives.
Our Copenhagen office is conveniently located near Østerport station, the city, and the sea. We have changing facilities and our own canteen serving freshly made food every day.
Want to join our team?
At MB Shipbrokers, we recognise that diverse perspectives are essential in driving innovation and delivering better solutions. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, background, or identity, feel valued and empowered to contribute. Additionally, we place significant importance on teamwork and consider our employees to be our most valuable assets, benefiting from the supportive and collegial atmosphere we cultivate. We are dedicated to our work, and we expect the same level of commitment and passion from you.
We kindly ask that you apply via our job portal to ensure your application is considered. Please be aware that only candidates with a valid work permit for Denmark will be taken into consideration.
We will be conducting ongoing screenings and interviews, so please send your application at your earliest convenience. Please enclose a copy of your diploma stipulating which courses you have taken.
