The starting date is preferably as soon as possible but will be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
Adopting AI in businesses and society requires attention to the broader organizational and ethical context in which these technologies are placed. Our focus is on exploring ways that datafication and the ethics thereof affects AI and how this can be adopted organizationally and ethically to contribute to the democratic and innovative trajectories of present businesses and society.
We offer the opportunity to do research on some of our times' most pressing questions, including the adoption of AI in the workplace and its effects on democracy and society, by collecting and exploring empirical material from key industry decision-makers.
The position requires a candidate with an academic specialization in the datafication and ethics of artificial intelligence and data systems as it is applied in organizations, with a technical interest in the functioning of data systems as well.
The postdoc will include teaching obligations.
Qualifications
The successful applicant must hold a PhD degree or similar qualifications in the field of datafication of organizations.
Fluency in English is required for this position, and the ability to communicate in Danish is an advantage, but not a precondition.
Algorithms data and democracy
The position is a part of the Algorithms, Data and Democracy project, a large collaborative research project between several Danish universities. The project includes five empirical subprojects, and the position in question is based in the subproject Algorithms, Data, Democracy, and Innovation. This subproject aims to create a better understanding of the benefits and pitfalls of algorithm-driven innovation processes. This will help ensure the best future usage of AI applications in innovation processes and that principles of transparency, inclusiveness, privacy and diversity are supported by its applications. The subproject also considers how future AI applications can affect relationships of power and authority in decision-making processes in business and society, in order to ensure democratic control and legitimacy.
