Kickstart your international career with one of the world’s leading food trading companies! Our two-year ESS-FOOD International Trainee Programme (EFIT) offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth in a dynamic, ambitious, and informal culture.

Choose between our 2 tracks

Joining our EFIT trainee programme, you’ll choose between shipping or sales. Each track will challenge you and give you all the training and experience you need to succeed. Both tracks will be available in Copenhagen and Aalborg. You’ll also get to join your colleagues on international business trips, experiencing different cultures and building a global network.

What can you become?

• Shipping Trainee: Gain insight into logistics and distribution, ensuring goods move from A to B. You will work globally with our colleagues and offices worldwide and you will follow the Business School’s Shipping & Freight Forwarding track.
• Sales Trainee: With focus on sales and purchasing, you will learn to negotiate and develop markets. You’ll take on responsibilities early, visit international customers and suppliers, and may possibly get a short-term placement at one of our international offices.

How do I join the program?
Well, first of all, you’re exited about starting your career in an international organization. Secondly, you bring your can-do attitude to work every day, and you’re great at collaborating both with colleagues, partners and customers.

Specifically, you:

• You have a qualifying education (EUX Business, HHX, EUS, or a bachelor's degree).
• You possess excellent Danish and English skills - and if you speak a 3rd language it will be an advantage if you want to be a Sales Trainee.
• You are service-minded, detail-oriented, and a team player.
• You have experience from student or part-time jobs.

Leave your comfort zone and find yourself in a safe space
Our highest priority is your development and that you get all necessary support and guidance throughout the two years. We aim to develop the best possible trainees in the industry – and we know that it requires our full attention.

Therefore, you’ll be supported in achieving professional and personal development by getting assigned a manager, a supervisor, and a buddy. The manager will have the overall responsibility for your development, the supervisor will guide you in your day-to-day tasks and the buddy will make you thrive in our social environment.

Ready to join?
Apply by April 1, 2025, specifying your preferred location (Copenhagen or Aalborg) and trainee track (Shipping or Sales). Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, and we hire when we find the right candidates.

The EFIT programme starts on September 1, 2025.
