Your team You will be part of the Employee Services Division in the Directorate General Human Resources. The Division provides integration, health and well-being services, as well as being responsible for processing salaries, rewards, allowances and pensions. In addition to assisting more than 4,000 employees throughout their ECB careers and beyond, we support the development and implementation of human resources (HR) systems at the ECB and deliver state-of-the-art HR analytics. We are constantly reviewing our processes in order to streamline them and make them more customer-centric.

In your role as a trainee in the Human Resources Operations team, you will be part of the team responsible for compensation and benefits-related processes as well as contract management. You will work closely with other members of the HR Operations team and provide support to ECB staff.

Your role As a trainee in Human Resources Operations you will:

  • respond to staff members’ queries on salaries and benefits;
  • support employee benefit processes;
  • help to streamline and digitalise human resources processes related to compensation and benefits;
  • support the policy work of the team by, for example, contributing to data reporting and preparing presentations and communication material;
  • contribute to research and benchmarking exercises, prepare statistics and support policy implementation reviews.

The position offers you excellent opportunities to gain experience working in HR, particularly in daily operations using SAP Human Capital Management (HCM).

Qualifications, experience and skills Essential:

  • a bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources management, business administration, employment and/or industrial relations, social or organisational psychology, accounting, business information systems, business analytics or another relevant discipline;
  • in addition to the above, excellent analytical and conceptual skills;
  • an interest in complex technical content;
  • a good knowledge of the MS Office package;
  • an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:

  • a qualification in human resources;
  • a good understanding of data and sound data processing skills.

You are curious and eager to learn, and want to further develop your ability to analyse complex information. You are keen to collaborate with others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s diverse perspectives. You strive to know and anticipate stakeholder needs, and will signal any need for change and propose alternative solutions.

You are motivated to contribute to the ECB’s mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe. You are keen to be part of our team and to use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.

Further information Initial traineeship of six months, with a possible extension to up to 12 months in total.
