Do you want to gain hands-on experience building scalable cloud solutions that make a real impact on companies around the world?
At HR-ON, we’re looking for a student software developer to join our team with a focus on API integrations and backend development. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to a meaningful product used by companies across Europe.

As we expand in the German market, we’re especially looking for someone with native-level (mother tongue) German proficiency and ideally some understanding of the German HR landscape – including job portals, payroll, or time registration systems.

Your Role
As a student backend developer at HR-ON, you will support the team in further developing our serverless HR platform. You will work closely with experienced developers, with tasks such as:

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Supporting integration with third-party systems and ensuring stable API connections.
• Working with databases like PostgreSQL and MariaDB to manage data flow.
• Contributing to backend functionality in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborating with other developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

We’ll match the complexity of tasks to your current level while helping you grow into more responsibility over time.

Who Are You?
You are a student within software development, IT, computer science, or a related field, and you:

• Have basic experience or coursework in backend development and APIs.
• Are curious about technologies like Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and cloud computing.
• Are structured and eager to learn best practices from experienced developers.
• Speak German as your native (mother tongue) language, with deep cultural understanding (a plus if you know about the local job tech ecosystem).
• Thrive in a collaborative environment with flexibility and trust.

Bonus if you’ve already played around with AWS, Linux scripting, or type-safe code — but it’s not a requirement.
