Internship in Automation/DCS at BWSC – Start January 2026
Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S
For students enrolled in the Automation Technology programme.
BWSC offers an internship in our Automation/DCS department starting in January. Here, you will have the opportunity to become part of an international engineering organisation with strong roots in the energy sector – and with a growing focus on operation, optimisation, and modernisation of advanced facilities.
BWSC – Ever better energy!
Join us in our mission in building a world of sustainable energy and making a meaningful impact on the world of power generation and energy conversion.
BWSC is a leading player in the power generation industry, specializing in the service, operations, and maintenance of power plants. We are seeking to always provide Ever Better Energy whether it comes to optimizing a conventional power plant, operating a biomass power plant or constructing new energy facilities within power-to-x facilities. Our commitment to excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship sets us apart in the industry.
The internship
Automation/DCS is BWSC’s internal specialist environment for digital control systems and automation solutions. The department supports both new projects and existing plants and plays a key role in ensuring stable operation, technical quality, and continuous optimization.
We work across the entire automation value chain – from concept design and programming to testing, commissioning, service, and remote support. An increasing part of our work involves modernizing older systems, integrating data in new ways, and applying best practice within cyber and operational security. The department serves as a link between practical plant operation, technical solutions, and BWSC’s overall goal of delivering reliable and future-proof energy systems.
As an intern, you will work with tasks such as:
- Configuration and programming of DCS/PLC solutions
- Building test setups and simulations in internal environments
- Troubleshooting, analysis, and documentation
- Idea development and design support on smaller tasks
- Insight into service and support activities, including online monitoring
- Understanding how cyber security principles are incorporated into modern automation environments
You will become part of a team where experienced colleagues help you get started and where you are given responsibility at a pace that matches your development.
Qualifications
We are looking for an intern who:
- Is enrolled in the Automation Technology programme
- Is curious, eager to learn, and motivated by technical challenges
- Thrives in an environment where quality and safety are in focus
- Has an interest in control systems, automation, and system understanding
What do we offer?
