Intern, Legal and Mergers and Acquisitions - Aarhus or Copenhagen

Based in either Aarhus or Copenhagen, Denmark you will join our global team of highly experienced specialists in Legal and in Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) in a broad role working closely with our lawyers and M&A specialists in providing advice and support to all areas of Arla’s business across the entire value chain.

This may range from legal issues involving farmers/members, suppliers, dairies/production to sales, marketing, distribution and logistics as well as different compliance functions, including data privacy, sanctions, anti-bribery and competition law. The position may also involve assisting on our group restructurings and M&A projects.

How you will make an impact

The position is based in Arla's corporate headquarter in Viby outside Aarhus or our office in Copenhagen. We are looking for an intern to support the department in a variety of tasks and assignments related to our projects and daily work. Based on your background and skillset, you can help shape the content and nature of the position, but you should also expect some routine and administrative responsibilities.

Specific tasks may include

• Legal research, preparation of background memoranda and preparation of contract templates
• Assisting in drafting and negotiating agreements, including Confidentiality, Supply, Distribution, Agency, Logistics and Warehousing Agreements.
• Work on our sanctions screening process.
• Assisting in developing and rolling out the Arla Foods data privacy compliance program, including documentation and assessments of data processing activities.
• Supporting the business in their compliance tasks and updating communication material and tools such as standards, templates etc.
• Assisting data privacy related matter handling, such as data subject requests.
• Assisting in M&A processes and participating in due diligence.
• Administrative tasks.

What will make you successful
We are looking for a candidate with a positive can-do attitude, a strong desire to learn, and the motivation to work across a broad range of legal domains, who thrives in a well-performing team and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills.

Furthermore, we expect you to

• Be currently enrolled as a 1st or 2nd year Master’s student in law or business law.
• Be available to join the team full-time for one semester.
• Have knowledge of or an interest in data privacy and other compliance disciplines (prior knowledge is not a prerequisite).
• Be proficient in both verbal and written English.
