Junior Product Specialist

We are looking for a talented Junior Product Specialist who wants to make an impact in our Coating Service Application team and grow their career within Hempel.

In this role, you will primarily support the Coating Application Service Manager in the commercial development and implementation of new application methods across both the Marine and Energy & Infrastructure industries. You will work closely with the wider team and with internal and external stakeholders. What will you be doing in this role?

• Support the development and implementation of new coating application methods and services.

• Assist in capturing customer and industry insights to help shape the service application strategy and roadmap

• Collaborate with R&D, operations, sales, and external partners to support product launches and lifecycle activities.

• Help prepare documentation, business cases, presentations, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to stakeholder engagement across industries (O&G, Rail, Renewables, Construction) to ensure solutions meet market needs.

What do we look for in you?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field.

• Relevant student job experience or 1–2 years of fulltime experience.

• Technical understanding of and/or interest in coating applications and industrial processes.

• Ability to work with diverse collaborators and build strong working relationships.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience contributing to projects and delivering tasks on time and within scope.

Service Development is part of Hempel Services — the teams responsible for delivering services that complement Hempel’s coating systems.

We act as ambassadors for customer value across Hempel’s Energy & Infrastructure and Marine segments. Our mission is to maintain and enhance our service portfolio while identifying new opportunities that strengthen customer value and support business growth.

• Ensuring our service portfolio meets customer needs.

• Improving coating solutions to drive new business and expand share of wallet.

• Executing the Service Development strategy in close collaboration with Service Operations and other key stakeholders.

• Monitoring market trends and identifying emerging opportunities.

• Linking segment value creation plans with service development initiatives.

• Creating and delivering a focused service development roadmap.

• Owning the E&I/Marine service portfolio, including value propositions, content, pricing, targets, and sales competencies.

• Continuously reviewing and improving existing services.

• Developing new services aligned with business and service strategies, both short and long term.

• Evaluating services based on commercial and sustainability impact.

• Ensuring new services scale quickly or are reconsidered.
