About the research group: Cardio-Metabolic epidemiology performs research in cardiometabolic disease and health, a group of common and interconnected conditions such as overweight, metabolic conditions, type 2 diabetes, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and gestational diabetes mellitus. We aim to investigate and develop effective pharmacological as well as lifestyle interventions to prevent the development and progression of cardiometabolic diseases and improve health. Furthermore, we also strive to advance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms that contribute to disease development. Our epidemiological studies range in scale from several hundred participants to the entire Danish population, drawing on extensive datasets such as Danish nationwide registries and other large-scale big data resources.

About the specific project: The successful candidate will primarily be involved in research on the causes and consequences of gestational diabetes mellitus, including the roles of hormonal contraceptive exposure and polycystic metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), as well as the risk of subsequent type 2 diabetes.

The candidate: We are seeking a highly motivated and well-qualified researcher with an MSc degree in public health, epidemiology, nutrition, biostatistics, or a related health science discipline. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in epidemiological research and documented experience with register-based studies. Experience working with Danish health and administrative registers, including data extraction, linkage, management, and analysis in secure research environments (e.g., Statistics Denmark), will be considered an advantage.

The candidate should have knowledge of epidemiological methods and study design, including cohort and case-control studies, and experience applying statistical methods to large-scale health data. Proficiency in R or similar statistical software is expected.

We further value experience with scientific writing and dissemination of research findings, including contributions to peer-reviewed publications. Experience within metabolic health, diabetes, nutrition, reproductive health, or related fields is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities
The position includes:

Terms: The Researcher will be offered a full-time position.

Employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement for Academics employed by the Danish Regions (Danske Regioner) and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
