o Participate in the preparation of specifications for new equipment.
o Perform skilled mechanical work in the repair and overhaul of equipment, set up all new vehicles as required.
o Operating and repair characteristics of a variety of public works heavy duty equipment.

o Maintains comprehensive records for each item of equipment with respect to downtime, mechanical malfunctions and repairs necessary. Assembles reports on the suitability, reliability, availability and operating costs of various models of equipment.

o Performs administrative duties such as keeping time sheets, maintaining daily equipment logs and submitting manufacturer warranties.
