The work aims to deduce various aspects of cell wall synthesis and development in plant leaf and root development. The research will largely revolve around microscopy, and quantitative cell development. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate has a strong background in either different aspects of plant growth and development or in cell biology and microscopy.

The successful candidates will work in a highly cross-disciplinary research group led by Prof. Staffan Persson that routinely uses the full range of computational biology, microscopy, molecular & evolutionary biology and biochemistry. It is expected that the candidate actively applies for funding associated with the research outlined above, and that the candidate has documented experience in leading students in research projects.
