The Centre for Textile Research, Saxo Institute, is looking to employ student helpers in connection with three ongoing research projects about archaeological and heritage textiles.
The first project is TriVal. Textile resources in Viking Age landscapes (https://ctr.hum.ku.dk/research-programmes-and-projects/trival/), the second one is Fashioning Sudan. Profile
We are looking for motivated students to help us in the daily running of the research projects, as well as provide support for the organisation of events. Students with particular interests in archaeology, history, art history, and/or ancient crafts, regardless of time period and geographical areas, will be considered, as well as students interested in textiles in general. Students with a specific interest in African heritage will also be considered. A good command of English is necessary, as well as proficiency with computer suites such as Office and Adobe.
Tasks may include:
- Help in the research projects.
- Updating social media platform and helping with internal communication.
- Create content for communication (SoMe, posters, conference program, etc.).
- Logistic coordination during events, online and in person.
- Support for the preparation of publication (digital image work, sourcing references, data presentations).
- Participation in team meetings.
- Database work.
- Digital data management.
Salary and terms of employment
For the Fashioning Sudan and the TriVal project, the appointment is for one year with the possibility of extension.
For the Silk ribbons project, the appointment is 6 months.
The working hours will be a maximum of 8 hours per week. There may be a varying workload, and there will be flexibility in relation to exam periods.
Employment and remuneration take place as a student in accordance with the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees' Organizations - Det Statslige Område (OAO-fællesoverenskomsten) samt Organisationsaftale for Kontorfunktionærer, laboranter og It-medarbejdere (HK) § 35.
The hourly wage is DKK 140.56
It is a prerequisite for employment that you are enrolled and an active student at an educational institution.
